Cheshire East Council is recruiting a permanent full-time Team Manager – Child In need / Child Protection (Family Help) based in Crewe. You will lead a social work pod handling high-risk cases, supervise staff, and work with partners to deliver integrated services for children and families.

The role requires Social Work England registration, an enhanced DBS, and extensive experience with complex family social work, safeguarding, and early intervention. Strong leadership is essential.

Qualifications

• Social Work England recognised qualification is required.
• Social Work England registration is expected.
• DBS enhanced check is required.
• Experience delivering complex social work with families is essential.
• Strong understanding of risk management and safeguarding.
• Knowledge of early intervention principles.

Responsibilities

• Manage the social work pod, prioritise and allocate tasks, provide guidance and support.
• Provide professional supervision to social workers and practitioners.
• Collaborate with other agencies for integrated multi-disciplinary working.
• Manage budgets for commissioning and payments to families.
• Maintain child records and share information with agencies Lawfully.
• Contribute to social work policy and procedure development.
• Analyse performance data and drive targets across the service.
