Job summary

Qualifications

• Significant experience in Children’s Social Care and safeguarding.
• Proven track record as Team Manager or Senior Practitioner.
• Strong knowledge of Child Protection and safeguarding legislation.
• Experience managing complex caseloads and leading social work teams.
• Registered with Social Work England; enhanced DBS clearance.

Team Manager - Help & Protection Team Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting for an experienced Team Manager to join the Help & Protection Team at Knowsley Borough Council .

This is an excellent opportunity for an established manager with a strong background in Child Protection, Safeguarding, and frontline Children's Services to lead a busy and supportive team.

Role Details

• Job Title: Team Manager - Help & Protection Team
• Location: Knowsley Borough Council
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Working Pattern: Hybrid working, with 3 to 4 days per week in the office
• Contract: 6-month temporary contract with the view to extension
• Pay Rate: £46.00 per hour Umbrella £36.01 per hour PAYE Exclusive

About the Role

As Team Manager, you will provide leadership and oversight to a team of social workers managing complex child protection, safeguarding, and family support cases. You will be responsible for ensuring that children and families receive effective interventions, while maintaining high standards of practice and statutory compliance. The successful candidate will support staff through regular supervision, performance management, case audits, and decision‑making on complex safeguarding matters. You will work closely with partner agencies, including education, health services, police, and other safeguarding professionals to achieve positive outcomes for children and young people.
