Job summary

Norfolk County Council is seeking a Social Work Team Manager for the Corporate Parenting Service, based in Great Yarmouth. This secondment/temporary fixed-term role supports looked after children with strong leadership and people management skills.

You will lead a team of social workers, with responsibilities including recruitment, budget management, mentoring, and partnership work with local agencies to deliver high-quality care for children and families.

Qualifications

  • Social Work qualification at degree level is required.
  • Experience in managing a team of social workers is essential.
  • Strong people management, recruitment, and budget awareness are necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, supervision and support to a busy locality team.
  • Develop and sustain practice standards and service delivery across the North, East and Great Yarmouth areas.
  • Collaborate with partner agencies to improve outcomes for looked after children and care leavers.

Social Work Team Manager – Corporate Parenting Service | 11103 | Secondment Opportunity / Temporary Fixed Term Contract until July 2028|37 hours per week | 50,166 to 54,277 per annum | Grade L | Great YarmouthHi, I am Michelle Jones, Service Manager for In Care at Norfolk County Council. Our Team Managers really support their teams and the work they do to achieve positive outcomes for our young people and our staff.We are looking for a Team Manager who is Social Work qualified Degree level. You will be experienced in working with looked after children, need experience in manging a team of social workers, an excellent team player and share our vision to provide the best possible outcomes for children and families alongside excellent people management skills, knowledge of recruitment, budget management, and mentoring skills.In Care is an exciting service in Norfolk which continues to develop and grow. You will be part of developing the working practices within the teams as well as working closely with partner agencies to develop a robust, positive offer to those children and young people.You will be joining a committed, supportive and energetic local management team, supporting a diverse staff group as well as managing a busy locality team focused on delivering a high-quality service.
