Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust in Milton Keynes seeks an experienced Team Manager to provide operational leadership to Milton Keynes Talking Therapies. You will work with Clinical Leads, the Service Manager and senior colleagues to ensure accessible, high-quality care for adults with common mental health difficulties.

You will lead a diverse workforce, oversee governance and performance, and develop innovative models of care while building strong relationships with GPs,

Qualifications

  • Full driving licence and willingness to travel across sites.

  • Lead and support a multidisciplinary workforce, promoting staff wellbeing, development, engagement and high performance.
  • Monitor activity, waiting times and contractual and quality indicators; drive improvement plans.
  • Oversee governance, safeguarding, risk management, audit and quality assurance.
  • Represent the service at internal and external meetings and deputise for the Service Manager when required.

Job description

Milton Keynes Talking Therapies is seeking an experienced, compassionate and forward-thinking Team Manager to provide operational leadership to our service., This is a key senior management role with responsibility for the effective operational delivery, continued development and performance of Milton Keynes Talking Therapies. The successful candidate will work closely with the Clinical Leads, Service Manager and wider senior management team to deliver accessible, responsive and high-quality care for adults experiencing common mental health difficulties, including anxiety and depression and difficulties associated with long-term physical health conditions., You will provide visible and accessible leadership across the service, supporting a diverse workforce of clinical and non-clinical staff. You will be responsible for translating strategic and operational priorities into clear plans, maintaining effective governance and ensuring that the service delivers against its contractual, quality, performance and financial requirements. Working collaboratively with clinical leaders and senior managers, you will contribute to business planning, service transformation and the development of innovative and sustainable models of care. You will also build strong relationships with GPs, primary care teams, commissioners, specialist mental health services, social care, employment services and voluntary-sector partners. Key areas of responsibility will include:

  • Providing effective operational leadership and management for Milton Keynes Talking Therapies.
  • Leading and supporting a multidisciplinary workforce, promoting staff wellbeing, development, engagement and high performance.
  • Monitoring activity, outcomes, waiting times and other contractual and quality indicators.
  • Analysing performance and financial information and developing improvement plans where required.
  • Managing the service's allocated financial resources, budget position, forecasting and efficiency requirements.
  • Ensuring robust arrangements for clinical governance, safeguarding, risk management, audit and quality assurance.
  • Overseeing recruitment, retention, appraisal, supervision, training and other workforce processes.
  • Leading service improvement and change projects within agreed timescales and resources.
  • Ensuring that complaints, incidents and identified risks are thoroughly investigated and that resulting actions are implemented.
  • Promoting accessible, responsive and non-stigmatising services that reflect local needs.
  • Representing the service at internal and external meetings.
  • Deputising for the Service Manager when required.

    We are looking for an experienced and motivated leader with a strong track record of managing health or social care services and delivering high-quality, patient-centred care. You will have experience leading multidisciplinary teams, driving service improvement, managing performance and resources, and working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.

  • You will be an effective communicator with strong leadership, project management and problem-solving skills, able to interpret performance data, manage competing priorities and support teams to achieve their objectives. Experience of governance, risk management, workforce management and financial oversight is essential. You will be resilient, adaptable and committed to continuous improvement, with a compassionate and inclusive leadership style that reflects CNWL's values. A relevant professional or management qualification (or equivalent experience), a full driving licence and the ability to travel across sites are essential.
