Job description

Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent fully remote position available for a Fostering Manager to work full time for Amber Fostering.

The salary for this Fostering Manager job is up to £60,000 per annum.

  • To manage the work and monitor the performance of the team.
  • To ensure regular supervision and support to social workers.
  • To organise the foster carers annual reviews and ensure that they take place on time.
  • To monitor the quality of social workers, guide and develop their professional practice and to carry out their annual appraisals.
  • Identify social workers training needs and organising relevant trainings.
  • Monitor and guide foster carers training, assessment and presentation.
  • To be responsible for identifying foster carers training needs and coordinating and delivering an appropriate programme of training in line with the National Minimum Standards for Fostering.
  • To ensure that the foster carers attend foster carers, support group and that it is run regularly.
  • Support and direct staff members in their day-to-day tasks as required ensuring the smooth running of the service.
  • To ensure equal opportunities and non-discriminatory practice.
  • To deal and investigate substantial complaints and allegations regarding foster carers efficiently.

  • Present information/data on performance of the Agency to the Management Team.
  • To contribute to the overall development of the service.
  • To participate in own yearly appraisal of work performance carried out by RI of Fostering.
  • Any other duties as required by the Director of Amber Fostering Ltd – for example direct support of foster carers in the absence of social workers.
  • Any other duty that seems necessary for further development of the services provided by Amber Fostering.

Requirements of this Fostering Manager job:

  • A social Work Qualification or equivalent.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation.
  • Registered or eligible for registration.
  • Experience of managing staff in childcare setting.
