Job summary

Northern Ireland Electricity Networks Limited is seeking a Team Manager to oversee delivery of essential electrical infrastructure projects across Northern Ireland. The role requires hands-on experience with distribution-level construction methods and proven ability to lead teams while maintaining rigorous safety standards.

You will liaise with customers and contracting partners, coordinate resources, and ensure timely completion of programmes.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of overhead line construction methods at distribution voltage levels
• Experience with underground cable construction methods at distribution voltage levels
• Experience with plant construction methods at distribution levels
• Experience with distribution networks construction methods
• Ability to manage work delivery and/or lead teams to deliver projects/programmes of work
• Promote safety targets and model safe onsite practices
• Experience of NIE Networks (or similar) electricity system at distribution or transmission levels
• Proven track record in dealing with Customers and Contracting Partners and managing expectations
• Practical understanding of IT/Microsoft Office for reporting and analysis
• Full UK driving licence and access to a car for business travel across Northern Ireland

Responsibilities

Job description

Essential

• Working knowledge of one or more of the following:
  • Overhead line construction methods and relevant associated work methods at distribution voltage levels
  • Underground cable construction methods and relevant associated work methods at distribution voltage levels
  • Plant construction methods and relevant associated work methods at distribution levels.
  • Distribution networks construction methods
• Demonstrate the ability to manage work delivery and/or management of teams to ensure the effective delivery of relevant projects/programmes of work.
• Previous experience in promoting and delivering against safety targets and being a role model in relation to safe onsite working practices.
• Previous experience of the NIE Networks (or similar) electricity system at distribution or transmission voltage levels.
• Proven track record of dealing with Customers and Contracting Partners and managing their expectations.
• Practical understanding of IT/Microsoft Office to enhance reporting and analysis of information.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a car suitable for business travel across Northern Ireland.

Desirable

• Experience in resource management, including planning and scheduling of work, to deliver work programmes within a similar environment
• Developed knowledge of NIE (or similar) electricity system Safety Rules and Authorisations
• A relevant management qualification.
