Job summary

NI Water seeks an Utilities Supervisor to manage digging squads, plan daily schedules and ensure work aligns with NI Water guidelines. You’ll report to the Contracts Manager and liaise with other Supervisors to complete tasks efficiently and to high standards.

The role requires CSR card, driving licence, and flexibility. Training on our in-house system is provided; weekend work and on-call duties may apply.

Qualifications

• Driving Licence is required.

• Experience in managing digging squads is desired.
• Knowledge of NI Water or utilities is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Schedule work for the digging squads using the in-house system.
• Coordinate repair and maintenance tasks such as burst mains and sewer work.
• Ensure all paperwork, maps and job information are accurate and up to date.
• Build good working relationships with NI Water Field Managers, colleagues and squads.

Job description

Utilities Supervisor (NI Water) (RE/014W)

The role is to manage the day to day activities of digging squads and resolve any issues

You will be responsible for ensuring all work is carried out within the guidelines set out by our client Northern Ireland Water

Reporting the Contracts Manager, you are expected to plan the daily scheduling whilst working within specific timeframes

Working in a team of four, you will liaise with the other Supervisors to ensure the work is completed efficiently and to high standards

Computer literacy is essential and training will be given on our bespoke system

Experience in managing squads is desired, however knowledge of clean water and sewers would be preferable, with a keen interest in learning the job. Training will be provided for the right person

This is a very busy working environment and offers overtime and weekend work. You would be expected to be available for "On Call", working on a rota basis

Hours of work are 07:00 - 17:00 (Monday-Friday)

About the role

The role will involve scheduling work for the squads using our in-house system

This will include repair and maintenance work e.g. burst mains and sewer repairs to new installs e.g., connections and mains laying.

You will also be expected to ensure all paperwork, maps and information pertaining to the jobs is accurate and up to date

Must be organised and have the ability to re-schedule work at short notice

Building good working relationships with NI Water Field Managers, colleagues and squads is an integral part of the role.
