From establishing safety arrangements to checking the quality of work, you’ll direct and inspire the success of a team involved in everything from inspection and faulting, through to maintenance and renewal.

Please Note: There may be a requirement to work on call in this role if you opt to take the GTRM IMC25 contract

About the role (External)

We’ll look to you to direct, organise and motivate a high performing team. From inspection and faulting through to maintenance and renewal, you’ll play a hands-on role. You’ll make sure everything is done efficiently and to the highest standards. Safety will be a priority. You’ll establish appropriate safety arrangements and ensure Network Rail staff and contractors follow safe systems of work. Proactively control and check the quality of work and the competence of your team, ensuring that assets are fully compliant and that all vehicles, plant, tools, equipment, and materials are fit for purpose. You will also compile a range of vital reports.

Minimum requirements include:

  1. Experience of organising and controlling the safe and efficient delivery of work
  2. Excellent communication skills, both in person and in writing
  3. Knowledge of discipline-specific maintenance, inspection, faulting, and renewal techniques
  4. Knowledge of relevant standards, procedures, and instructions
  5. Strong leadership qualities with a clear sense of direction
  6. Hold or be working towards an NVQ level 2 or 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant subject or have attained the appropriate level of knowledge through relevant experience
  7. Ability and willingness to drive vehicles as required by business needs

This role involves working days, nights, and weekends, and is a safety-critical position subject to drug and alcohol testing and passing a relevant medical assessment.
