Job summary

Bank of America in Bromley, UK, is seeking a Team Leader for Trade Services to guide a six-person client services team across EMEA. You will combine people leadership with deep documentary credit product knowledge and risk awareness to ensure exceptional client service.

The role requires expertise in Import/Export Letters of Credit, Standby Letters of Credit, and relatedTrade Finance instruments, with a focus on regulatory compliance and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership of a team within Trade Finance.
• Extensive experience with Documentary Credits and Guarantees.
• Strong understanding of ICC rules (UCP 600, URDG 758, ISP98).

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of six associates in Client Services and Registration & Distribution, fostering collaboration and client focus.
• Provide day‑to‑day coaching and development opportunities for team members.
• Monitor workflows, capacity, and service levels to ensure timely, accurate client enquiries handling.
• Review monthly metrics (email/phone/SLAs) to drive continuous improvement.
• Set expectations and drive performance objectives while ensuring controls and client service standards.
• Respond to a broad range of Trade Finance enquiries and manage client expectations through regular updates.
• Address escalations and risks constructively, escalating when impact on client experience or risk arises.
• Act as SME for Trade Finance products (Import/Export LC, SBLCs, Guarantees) and ICC rules guidance.
• Collaborate with Sales, Product, Operations, Technical Support and Fulfilment for seamless client experience.
• Support onboarding of Trade Finance clients across the transaction lifecycle.
• Identify operational risks and support effective controls across the team.
• Deliver coaching and knowledge-sharing on Documentary Credits, Guarantees and international trade practices.
