Job summary

Network Rail in the UK is seeking a proactive Team Leader for the Signalling Maintenance team. You will lead a safety-focused group responsible for inspection, faulting, maintenance and renewal of signalling assets, ensuring work meets the highest safety standards.

The role is safety-critical, with days, nights and weekend shifts. You will drive a culture of safety, manage resources and report on performance, while participating in an assessment centre during October.

Salary: Starting from (IMC10) - £52291 or (IMC25) £56777 + location allowance

About the role

We're looking for proactive, safety-focused leaders to join our Signalling Maintenance team. What You'll Do

As a Team Leader, you'll be the driving force behind a high-performing team responsible for everything from inspection and faulting to maintenance and renewal of signalling assets. Your role will be hands-on and dynamic, ensuring that every task is completed to the highest standards and in line with safety requirements.

Your experience and skills

Who We’re Looking For

• Proven experience in planning, implementing, and managing safe systems of work to ensure compliance.
• Strong leader with the ability to motivate, direct, and embed a culture of safety within your team.
• Excellent communication, both verbal and written, to collaborate effectively and influence outcomes.
• Technical expertise in signalling inspection, faulting, maintenance, and renewal techniques, along with knowledge of relevant standards and procedures.

What could set you apart

• NVQ Level 2 or 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant subject, or equivalent experience.
• Willingness to drive vehicles.
• Working towards or holding SMTH and IRSE competencies.

This is a safety-critical role, which means you'll need to pass a medical assessment and be subject to drug and alcohol testing. Your role will involve working days, nights and weekends, so flexibility is necessary.

An assessment centre is expected to take place during the second week of October.
