Job summary

Network Rail Eastleigh is seeking a motivated Technician (Signalling Maintenance) to join the team. You'll deliver work safely, inspect and maintain signalling equipment, and report on completed tasks while supporting the Team Leader.

This safety-critical role requires a driving licence, flexibility for days, nights and weekends, and a commitment to safety standards. An assessment centre is planned in October as part of the selection process.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in planning and implementing safe systems of work.
• Strong team player with the ability to motivate and embed a culture of safety within your team.
• Knowledge of signalling inspection, faulting, maintenance, and renewal techniques.
• A valid driving licence and willingness to drive.

Salary: Starting from IMC10 £43104 or Standard Maintenance Contract £45699

Shift Pattern: Days, Nights and Weekends (Safety Critical Role)

About the role

We're looking for a motivated and safety-focused individual's to join our Signalling Maintenance team. In this role, you'll support the Team Leader in organising and motivating the team, ensuring the team delivers work safely and to the highest standards. You'll also carry out inspections, fault-finding, maintenance, renewal work and occasionally step up as Team Leader.

What you’ll do:

Carry out inspections, maintenance, and fault-finding on signalling equipment to keep the network running smoothly.

Ensure tools, vehicles, and equipment are fit for use and properly maintained.

Accurately report completed work and maintain essential records.

What we’re looking for:

Strong team player with the ability to motivate and embed a culture of safety within your team.

Knowledge of signalling inspection, faulting, maintenance, and renewal techniques.

Relevant competencies for the role (or willingness to achieve them), and ideally NVQ Level 1 or 2 (or equivalent experience).

A valid driving licence and willingness to drive.

This is a safety-critical role, which means you'll need to pass a medical assessment and be subject to drug and alcohol testing. Your role will involve working days, nights and weekends, so flexibility is necessary.
