Job summary

Network Rail's Southern Region is seeking a Team Leader for Signalling Maintenance in London. You will lead a safety-critical team responsible for inspection, faulting, maintenance and renewal of signalling assets, ensuring work is completed to the highest safety standards.

This role requires a proactive leader with strong communication, capable of guiding a team across days, nights and weekends. The position offers a competitive salary (£56,777 or £48,420 depending on contract) and hybrid

  • Proven experience in planning, implementing, and managing safe systems of work to ensure compliance.

Team Leader - Signalling Maintenance

Location: London Great Suffolk Street

Salary: Standard Maintenance Contract £56,777 or IMC19 (if already on a maintenance contract) £48,420

Shift Pattern: Days, Nights and Weekends (Safety Critical Role)

About The Role

We're looking for proactive, safety-focused leaders to join our Signalling Maintenance team. What You'll Do

As a Team Leader, you'll be the driving force behind a high-performing team responsible for everything from inspection and faulting to maintenance and renewal of signalling assets. Your Experience And Skills

Who We’re Looking For

  • Technical expertise in signalling inspection, faulting, maintenance, and renewal techniques, along with knowledge of relevant standards and procedures.
What Could Set You Apart
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant subject, or equivalent experience.
  • Willingness to drive vehicles.
  • Working towards or holding SMTH and IRSE competencies.
Important Information

This is a safety-critical role, which means you’ll need to pass a medical assessment and be subject to drug and alcohol testing. Your role will involve working days, nights and weekends, so flexibility is necessary.

Drugs And Alcohol Standard

All prospective candidates will be required to undergo and pass a drugs and alcohol test. Your application will be rescinded if you record a positive test. All positive drugs and alcohol test results for prospective candidates will be securely held on Sentinel database and a 5 year suspension from applying for a safety critical role, a role which requires PTS certification or a Key Safety role on Network Rail Managed Infrastructure will be enforced.
