About the Role

My client is a leading charity providing services in prisons and the probation service, focusing on recovery and custodial projects.

We are seeking a Team Leader to oversee the Prison Visits Centre at a new Category C prison located just outside of York.

Position Details

The Visits Team Leader is a permanent, full-time position offering an annual salary of £27,000 - £33,000. The role involves a Monday to Friday schedule, 37 hours per week, with some flexibility required for special events.

Candidate Requirements

• Experience managing a project, resource, or day centre, preferably within a custodial, prison, or community environment
• Strong managerial and leadership skills
• Knowledge of managing databases, scheduling, and resource management
• Experience working with families and developing stakeholder relationships

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the Prison Visits Centre
• Create a welcoming environment for visitors
• Manage Visit Receptionists and Play Workers
• Ensure all visit sessions and special events comply with health and safety, security, and custodial protocols
• Oversee visit scheduling, database management, and administrative tasks
