Job description

Every day at SuperCare brings both challenges and moments of real impact. The young people here are strong, determined, and each live with autism and complex processing needs. Their behaviours can include aggression such as hitting, spitting, hair pulling, or ripping clothes. Some express themselves through very challenging language – from racial abuse to graphic conversations – and others are drawn into online obsessions. Your role as Day Team Leader is to bring structure and direction, guiding your team through these unpredictable days so that the children feel safe, supported, and secure in routine.

What You'll Do:

As Day Team Leader, you'll balance direct support with leading and coordinating the team:

  • Lead day shifts, ensuring routines are followed and children feel supported.
  • Support young people with autism, epilepsy, diabetes, and mental health needs.
  • Step into challenging behaviours calmly and model safe practice for colleagues.
  • Provide personal care sensitively and professionally.
  • Mentor and supervise Day Coaches and Senior Coaches.
  • Manage records, handovers, and communication with managers.
What We're Looking For:

This role needs someone with both experience and authority, able to stay calm under pressure:

  • Strong background working with autism and behaviours that challenge.
  • Skilled in behaviour support, Team Teach, and de-escalation.
  • Resilient when faced with aggression, offensive language, or disturbing conversations.
  • Physically fit, reliable, and proactive.
  • A natural leader with excellent communication skills.
Benefits Working at SuperCare:

We'll make sure you're rewarded and supported as you lead:

  • Salary 20% above sector average.
  • 36 days of advanced training annually.
  • Fully funded Level 3 Diploma (if not already held).
  • Private healthcare and 24/7 GP access.
  • Gym stipend and wellbeing support.
  • Pension and bonus scheme.
  • Free parking and communal cars for transporting young people.
  • Clear pathway into Deputy Manager roles.
