Job summary

CareTech Community Services is seeking a Team Leader - Nights at West Park Road, Smethwick. This permanent, full-time role is 35 hours per week on a rota, paying £13.79 per hour.

You will lead a care team delivering person-centred support, maintain records, and ensure smooth night-time operations in a residential setting for service users with complex needs. DBS check, NVQ progression, and flexible hours are expected.

Qualifications

• Willingness to work towards NVQ Level 2.
• Ability to work unsociable hours on a rota.
• Drivers desirable but not essential.
• Enhanced DBS required (paid for by CareTech)

Responsibilities

• Deliver person-centred support in line with individual support plans.
• Assist with daily living skills and personal care where required.
• Promote independence, dignity, and wellbeing.
• Support activities, appointments, and community access.
• Maintain accurate records and work effectively as part of a team.
• Work a rota including evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and sleep-ins.

Rate: £13.79 per hour

Permanent | Full time | 35 hours per week (rota-based)

About the Service – Westpark Road

West Park Road is a residential service made up of 14 self-contained flats. In addition to this, the people living at the service also have access to a communal lounge and kitchen. The property itself is situated directly opposite a large park and is set back from the road with a private car park and garden to the rear. West Park Road is part of a residential area of Smethwick; it is within easy reach of West Bromwich and Birmingham centres and is directly opposite a large park. It has access to local amenities such as bowling, cinema, gym, shopping, and restaurants. The staff team here is experienced and knows the needs of the people they support well.

Service User Interests

The people we support enjoy a wide range of activities, and Support Workers play a vital role in enabling these experiences, including:

• Arts and crafts
• Days out such as Theme Parks, Meals out, Social activities, Christmas markets etc.
• Holidays and short breaks
• Walks in the local park and community
• Cooking and baking to develop life skills

The Role

You will:
