Job summary

Generations People is seeking a Logistics Team Leader for a busy manufacturing and distribution site in Kirkby-in-Ashfield. You will work with the Warehouse Manager and another Team Leader to keep delivery prep, fleet operations, picking, storage and compliance running smoothly.

This hands-on role requires computer literacy, strong leadership and good communication. Full training will be provided on internal systems, with clear progression opportunities and long-term stability.

Qualifications

• Hands-on logistics/warehouse operations experience.
• Ability to learn internal systems and adapt to processes.
• ADR/DGSA understanding (training provided).
• FLT licence preferred to support the role.

Responsibilities

• Delivery Preparation: package and secure goods to ADR standards, ensure safe loading and accurate paperwork.
• Fleet Support: assist with route planning, vehicle checks and driver hours/manifests.
• Carrier Management: book deliveries, declare consignments and resolve transport queries.
• Compliance: follow DGSA rules and support ISO9001, ISO14001 processes.
• Order Picking & Despatch: oversee picking accuracy, packing quality and returns processing.
• Finished Goods Storage: support weekly stock checks and safe storage standards.
• Health & Safety: maintain high H&S standards and ensure safe working practices.

The Role

We're hiring a Logistics Team Leader for a busy manufacturing and distribution site in Kirkby-in-Ashfield. You'll work with the Warehouse Manager and another Team Leader to keep delivery prep, fleet operations, picking, storage and compliance running smoothly.

Perfect for someone hands‑on, computer‑literate and ready to develop. Full training provided on internal systems.

Hours

• Mon-Thu: 07:00-15:30
• Fri: 07:00-14:30
• Extra hours when needed to load carriers and vans for next-day routes.

Key Responsibilities

• Delivery Preparation: Package and secure goods to ADR standards, ensure clean and safe loading, complete delivery/collection paperwork accurately.
• Fleet Support: Assist with route planning, Fleetmatic reports, daily vehicle checks, MOTs, servicing, breakdowns and driver hours/manifests.
• Carrier Management: Book deliveries, declare consignments correctly, manage labelling, support damage claims and resolve transport queries.
• Compliance: Follow DGSA rules for loading, securing, packaging and documentation. Support ISO9001, ISO14001 and environmental processes.
• Order Picking & Despatch: Oversee picking accuracy, packing quality, delivery note checks, returns processing and communication with production.
• Finished Goods Storage: Support weekly stock checks, rotation, call‑off stock, reorder levels and safe storage standards.
• Customer Service Support: Help resolve order queries, delivery issues and contribute to complaint investigations.
• Health & Safety: Maintain high H&S standards, complete FLT checks, enforce safe working practices and strong housekeeping.
