Job summary

Change Grow Live is seeking a Permanent Team Leader to provide visible leadership across HMP The Verne and HMP Portland. You will drive safe, person-centred services and motivate teams to achieve high standards of care.

The role requires previous experience in substance misuse or related services, strong leadership and coaching abilities, and a commitment to values-driven care. This is a full-time, 37.5-hour-per-week post with opportunities for development.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in leadership within health, social care, or related services.
• Experience mentoring, supervising, or leading staff teams.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate others and drive positive performance.
• Commitment to high-quality, person-centred services.
• Experience of partnership working and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership, guidance, and support to staff across both prison sites.
• Lead by example, promoting a positive, inclusive, and high-performing team culture.
• Ensure services are delivered safely, effectively, and in line with organisational policies, contractual requirements, and best practice.
• Support staff development through coaching, supervision, and performance management.
• Monitor performance, quality, and outcomes, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with prison colleagues and partner agencies.
• Contribute to service development and the achievement of key organisational objectives.
• Champion Change Grow Live's values through your leadership and decision-making.
