Job summary

Henderson Group's Spar Garvey in Lisburn is hiring a Team Leader at £14.83 per hour for a 42.5-hour week, with store hours from 6am to 11pm across Monday to Sunday. The role requires flexibility for opening/closing shifts and weekend work.

You will report to the Assistant Manager or Store Manager, lead the store team, model our values, manage workload, and support the store's performance while remaining hands-on in the shop.

Qualifications

• 18 years or older for store regulatory reasons.
• At least 6 months supervising a team in a customer-focused environment.
• Strong listening and communication skills.
• Target-driven with focus on continuous improvement and helping the store meet priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the store team to follow policies, standards and practices.
• Take responsibility for the store when other leaders are absent (keyholder duties).
• Be a positive role model and uphold values of Ambition, Customer First, Teamwork and Integrity.
• Train and manage workload while being hands-on to deliver the best customer experience.
• Support Store Manager to maximise store performance and implement store plans.
• Promote initiatives that support the local community.
• May cover Post Office duties as part of the role.

A look into the role

Reporting to the Assistant Manager and/or Store Manager you will help to lead the store team to provide a shopping experience that exceeds our customers’ expectations and makes a difference in the local community.

AsTeam Leaderyou will:

• Alongside the Assistant Manager and/or Store Manager - leading the store team to follow store policies, standards and practices.
• Taking responsibility for the store in the absence of other leaders (includes keyholder responsibility).
• Be a positive role model to the team and represent our values of Ambition, Customer First, Teamwork and Integrity.
• Train, manage the workload and support your team, whilst being hands on in store - ensuring you work together to achieve the right resources in the right place at the right time to deliver the best customer experience.
• Support the Store Manager to maximise store performance which includes understanding and implementing the store plan and priorities.
• Alongside the store team, actively promote and get involved in initiatives to support the local community.
• You may be required to cover the Post Office when required as part of this role.

Skills for Success

Joining us asTeam Leader,theminimum criteriayou’ll need is:

• You must be aged 18 years or over (for store legislative requirements) along with previous store retail experience, of which at least 6 months have been at a supervisory level leading a team of people in a customer-focused environment.
• A natural ability to listen, interact and communicate with customers and team members.
• Target driven to help to store achieve their business plans/priorities and be focused on continuous improvement.
• Be able to inspire everyone to do their best for each other and the customer.
