Midlothian Council is recruiting a Team Leader for the Family Centred Care Team to cover maternity leave until 31 December 2027. The role commands 36 hours per week with a fixed-term contract and location at the Midlothian Centre and Families Centre.

The post requires a Social Work degree, substantial family placement experience, and a management qualification in progress. PVG checks and SSSC registration are mandatory.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in social work recognised by the SSSC.
• Substantial experience in family placement or children and families social work.
• Management qualification pursued within three years of appointment.
• Experience in a multi-agency environment and leading professional staff.

Responsabilités

• Manage the Family Centred Care Team and oversee the maternity-cover period.
• Deliver high-quality supervision and learning opportunities for team members.
• Drive service improvements and ensure alignment with the Promise and bespoke fostering service.
• Lead budgetary planning and maintain strong communication with stakeholders.
