About the Role

As Team Leader of the Conveyancing Department, you'll have full responsibility for leading and developing our department, working with experienced fee earners, paralegals, and legal assistants across two sites. This isn't just a management position – you'll be instrumental in shaping business strategy, fostering a positive team culture, and ensuring the department operates efficiently and profitably.

Your Responsibilities Will Include
  • Strategic Leadership: Setting the vision and direction for the Residential Property Department, implementing strategies to drive growth and profitability
  • Team Management: Leading, mentoring, and developing a multi-site team, setting clear targets and fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture
  • Business Development: Identifying and pursuing growth opportunities, enhancing the firm's profile within the residential property market
  • Operational Excellence: Ensuring departmental efficiency, overseeing workflows, and maintaining exceptional service standards
  • Client Relationship Management: Building and maintaining strong client relationships, ensuring professional interactions and outstanding client care
  • Caseload Management: Handling a full caseload of residential conveyancing matters from instruction through to post-completion
  • Performance Management: Monitoring team performance, conducting appraisals, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives
  • Compliance & Quality Control: Ensuring all work meets regulatory requirements and firm standards

  • Significant Experience: Minimum 5 years experience of working as a Fee Earner within a Residential Conveyancing department
  • Comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of the conveyancing process
