Qualifications

  • Experience in supervisory or leadership role within children’s residential services.
  • Strong safeguarding and child protection knowledge.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and handle challenging situations.
  • Full UK driving license is essential.

  • Lead, motivate, and manage a team of Residential Support Workers.
  • Ensure the home operates in compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
  • Promote a child-centred approach focusing on welfare, development, and safety.
  • Support children to achieve personal goals and develop life skills.
  • Oversee planning and delivery of individual care plans.
  • Manage staff rotas ensuring adequate staffing levels.
  • Conduct regular supervisions, appraisals, and training for the team.
  • Handle safeguarding concerns and report incidents appropriately.
  • Build positive relationships with external agencies, families, and community.

About the Role:

As a Residential Team Leader, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the residential home, supporting a team of care staff to deliver high-quality care to children and young people. You will play a pivotal role in promoting a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment where every child feels valued and empowered.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead, motivate, and manage a team of Residential Support Workers.
  • Ensure the home operates in compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.

  • The ability to remain calm under pressure and handle challenging situations effectively.
  • A full UK driving licence.
