Job summary

Swanton Care is seeking a Team Leader to support the Service Manager in managing a shift at our supported living service, ensuring high-quality care daily. You will lead a proactive team, coordinate recruitment, inductions, training, and appraisals while maintaining strong person-centred plans.

You will develop staff skills, oversee rostering, and manage sickness/absence, delivering safe, responsive care. Experience in learning disabilities or challenging behaviours is valued.

Qualifications

Previous experience of working within a care role, supporting people with learning disabilities / behaviours that challenge.
Be able to demonstrate your ability to lead a team/shift.
Ideally, you will be working towards or hold a NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care.

Responsibilities

Provide practical assistance and emotional support to empower their team in supporting the people they support to achieve their goals and aspirations.
You will be proactive and support the development and skills of Support Workers, including recruitment, induction, supervisions, appraisals, training, rota management, sickness and absence management.
Take the lead to help Support Workers understand their responsibilities and ensure safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led support and care.
Ensure that all the people we support have person-centred support/care plans and update them as required.
Oversee and support the development of excellent quality within the service and maintain service user records.

Do you have previous experience working in care, leading a team and want to further your development within a Care Team Leader role?

This is an opportunity for a pro-active Team Leader to join an evolving Care Company. You will need:

Previous experience of working within a care role, supporting people with learning disabilities / behaviours that challenge
Be able to demonstrate your ability to lead a team/shift

The Role

Take the lead to help Support Workers understand their responsibilities and by doing so ensure that safe, effective, caring, responsive and well lead support and care is delivered at all times.
Ensure that all the people we support have person centred support/care plans. You will be able to create and update these plans as per any changes that are required.
To oversee and support the development of excellent quality within the service. You will design, develop and maintain excellent service user records. Working in a supportive manner that empowers the service user to live their life in their chosen manner.
