Job summary

Swanton Care and Community is seeking a Team Leader for a residential service. The role covers day, night and weekend shifts, full-time 42 hours per week, to help people live more independent and fulfilling lives within their home environment.

The successful candidate will have strong communication, adaptability and teamwork, with experience supporting people with learning disabilities and the willingness to work towards NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care. Sponsorship is not offered.

• Proven experience supporting people with learning disabilities or challenging behaviours.
• Hold or work towards NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical assistance and emotional support to empower people to achieve their goals.
• Promote health and wellbeing and ensure inclusive support.
• Facilitate social, educational or work activities.
• Perform general housekeeping and personal care tasks as needed.
• Complete records and documentation accurately.

Role: Team Leader

Shifts: Days, nights, weekends

Hours: Full-time, 42 hours per week

About you

You will need to be adaptable and flexible with excellent communication skills and able to work as part of our team. In addition, it is desirable to have:

• Previous experience supporting people with learning disabilities and behaviours that may challenge
• Hold or willing to work towards an NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care

The role

• To provide practical assistance and emotional support to empower the people we support to achieve their goals and aspirations, respecting everyone’s individuality and enabling them to make appropriate choices to live the life they wish, in line with their individual support plans
• Promote the health, well-being, physical, emotional, cultural and spiritual beliefs of the people we support and ensure they are met in an inclusive way
• Facilitating social, educational or work activities such as visiting family and friends, walks, shopping and other recreational activities of their choice
• General housekeeping duties that can include shopping, domestic duties as well as elements of personal care
• As part of the role, you will need to be able to complete a range of records and documents

About The Service

Station House comprises of four separate homes, The House, The Bungalow, The Apartment and The Annexe which can provide support for up to 10 individuals. We have beautiful gardens which are fully looked after by the people we support and the team living and working within the homes
