Job summary

Swanton Care & Community Ltd is seeking a Care Team Leader to support the Service Manager and lead day-to-day operations on a shift at our Supported Living service.

You will oversee recruitment, induction, supervision, training and rota management, helping staff develop skills while delivering person-centred care to people with learning disabilities and challenging behaviours. 40-hour week role with development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in care, leading a team or shift.
• Ability to lead a team and manage a shift effectively.
• Ideally working towards or holding NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical assistance and emotional support to empower the team to help people achieve their goals.
• Lead recruitment, induction, supervision, appraisals, training and rota management for staff.
• Ensure safe, caring, responsive and well-led care is delivered at all times by guiding staff.
• Oversee person-centred care plans and update them as needed for the people we support.
• Develop and maintain high-quality service records and support the service users to live life their way.

About The Role

About you

Do you have previous experience working in care, leading a team and want to further your development within a Care Team Leader role?

This is an opportunity for a pro-active Team Leader to join an evolving Care Company. You will need:

• Previous experience of working within a care role, supporting people with learning disabilities / behaviours that challenge
• Be able to demonstrate your ability to lead a team/shift
• Ideally, you will be working towards or hold a NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care

The Role

• Provide practical assistance and emotional support to empower their team in supporting the people they support to achieve their goals and aspirations.
• You will be proactive and support the development and skills of Support Workers. This will include recruitment, induction, supervisions, annual appraisals, training, coaching, rota management, sickness and absence management.
• Take the lead to help Support Workers understand their responsibilities and by doing so ensure that safe, effective, caring, responsive and well lead support and care is delivered at all times.
• Ensure that all the people we support have person centred support/care plans. You will be able to create and update these plans as per any changes that are required.
• To oversee and support the development of excellent quality within the service. You will design, develop and maintain excellent service user records. Working in a supportive manner that empowers the service user to live their life in their chosen manner.

About The Service

We have 2 Services located in Scotland, supporting young adults who have a primary diagnosis of a learning disability and may also have mental health or autism support needs and behaviors that can challenge. Our Services are led by the Registered Manager's who has a wealth of experience within the sector; committed and devoted to developing excellence and talent.
