Job summary

Berkley Care Group is seeking a Team Leader to guide and support a care team in delivering person-centred care on shift. You will lead, motivate and mentor colleagues, ensuring compassionate interactions with residents and effective communication with families and the broader home team.

The role emphasises rota planning, coaching, and maintaining high standards of care, with a focus on inclusion and staff development. The position offers full-time hours and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

  • A relevant qualification in health and social care with at least 2 years’ experience in a care assistant role.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, develop and delegate to others and be part of a supportive team.
  • Communicate with residents, the home team and family members with empathy and clarity.

Responsibilities

  • Plan rotas and supervise a team whilst on shift to oversee and maintain the care of residents.
  • Ongoing coaching, regular 1-2-1s with team members and inductions.
  • Attend team meetings and be a role model for the home team.
  • Administer prescribed medicines and maintain associated records and care plans.

What we are looking for:
  • Someone who is committed to caring
  • A relevant qualification in health and social care with at least 2 years’ experience in a care assistant role
  • The ability to lead, motivate, develop and delegate to others and be part of a supportive team

  • The ability to communicate with a wide range of people, including residents, the home team and family members

  • Promoting a caring and friendly environment where the philosophy of person-centred care is at the heart of everything you do, including the empowerment of residents to fully participate in all decisions relating to them
  • Administering prescribed medicines and maintaining associated records and care plans
  • Carrying out basic domestic duties and preparing light meals and refreshments for those in your care
  • Planning rotas and supervision of a team whilst on shift to oversee and maintain the care of residents
  • Ongoing coaching, regular 1-2-1s with team members and inductions
  • Attending team meetings and being a role model for the home team
