Job summary

Heart of England Co-operative Society is seeking a Team Leader for our Fenny Compton Food Store on a 16-hour per week schedule. You will lead from the front, coach the team, and take ownership of shifts in the absence of the Store Manager, driving performance and customer service in a community-focused store.

You’ll play a hands-on role, supporting recruitment, onboarding and ongoing development, while maintaining standards in stock, availability and compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a team in a retail/store environment.
• Ability to coach and develop colleagues to improve performance.
• Experience managing shifts, opening/closing procedures, and driving store standards.

Job description

We’re looking for a Team Leader to join our Fenny Compton Food Store (16 hours per week).

This is your opportunity to move beyond a standard retail role and take real ownership—leading a team, driving performance, and building the skills to progress into Store Management.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Team Leader, you’ll take responsibility for key areas of the store and step up to run the operation in the absence of the Store Manager.

You’ll:

This is a hands‑on leadership role where you’ll be expected to lead from the front and make decisions that impact the store’s success.
