Job summary

2 Sisters is seeking a Team Leader at our Newport site to drive accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence. You will lead a high-performing production team, manage attendance and development, and ensure GMP/HACCP compliance while delivering production plans and KPIs.

The role emphasizes safety, quality, and efficient use of resources, with opportunities for progression and a supportive workplace culture within a major UK food manufacturer.

Qualifications

• Supervisory or team leadership experience in manufacturing/operational settings.
• Proven ability to coach and develop teams to meet KPIs.
• Strong knowledge of Health & Safety, GMP, and food safety requirements.
• Good IT and numeracy skills; effective communication and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Deliver production plans and achieve KPI targets (productivity, efficiency, waste, service).
• Optimise labour, materials and resources to maximise performance and control costs.
• Lead and develop a high-performing team and manage attendance and engagement.
• Ensure quality, traceability, and compliance with GMP/HACCP and audits.

Job Description

Operational Performance & Resource Management.

• Deliver production plans and achieve agreed operational KPIs including productivity, labour efficiency, yield, waste and customer service.
• Optimise labour, materials and resources to maximise operational performance and minimise cost.
• Monitor, investigate and resolve performance gaps through effective problem-solving and continuous improvement & operational excellence.
• Maintain accurate production, stock and traceability records.

People Management

• Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team to achieve business objectives.
• Manage attendance, performance and colleague engagement in line with company policies.
• Support training, succession planning and the successful onboarding of new employees.
• Promote a positive culture built on accountability, communication and teamwork.

Quality, Service & Product Integrity.

• Ensure products meet all quality, food safety and customer requirements.
• Maintain compliance with GMP, HACCP, CCP and traceability standards.
• Drive a right-first-time culture and lead corrective actions arising from quality issues.
• Ensure the area remains audit-ready and compliant at all times.

Health, Safety & Sustainability Management.

• Lead a proactive safety culture, ensuring compliance with all Health & Safety standards and procedures.
• Identify, manage and reduce operational risks, hazards and incidents.
• Ensure team adherence to safe systems of work, PPE and legislative requirements.
• Support environmental and sustainability objectives through responsible resource and waste management.

Qualifications

• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience within a manufacturing or operational environment.
• Proven ability to lead, coach and develop teams to deliver business and KPI objectives.
• Strong understanding of Health & Safety, Quality, GMP and Food Safety requirements.
• Effective communication, problem-solving and continuous improvement skills, with good IT and numeracy capability.
• Be able to drive performance improvements
• Experience within FMCG, food manufacturing or a fast-paced production environment.
• HACCP qualification and knowledge of food safety systems.
• Formal leadership qualification (e.g. ILM or equivalent).
• Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Operational excellence. and continuous improvement tools.
