Hertfordshire County Council in Hemel Hempstead is seeking an Adult Social Care Team Leader to oversee the delivery of high-quality support for adults with disabilities across multiple sites. You will supervise staff, coach the team, and deputise as required, ensuring safeguarding, medication administration and effective rota planning.
This permanent role requires an NVQ/QCF/RQF Level 3 in care, strong communication, and a commitment to continuous service improvement.

The people who live at Elara House and Dacorum Group Homes Supported Living have full and varied lives but also need day to day support as they have learning, or other, disabilities. We support and empower up to 27 people across 5 sites and 6 people who live independently and we offer community support; we support all individuals to live as independently as possible
As a team leader, you’ll oversee the work of the whole team and ensure they deliver high quality support to people using our service, working in partnership with other professionals and agencies. Direct support shifts will be undertaken as part of the induction process and if needed from time to which will enable you to both observe practice, and coach and mentor the team.
Responsibilities includes formal supervision of staff, administering medication, assistance with rota planning, support with training and sickness management, and take on a key role, such as health and safety co-ordinator, or medication co-ordinator.
Flexibility is required to meet the needs of the service. This role does not routinely require working Bank holidays or weekends. However, where a weekend day is worked, a day off in lieu will be provided during the week
Waking night checks will also need to be completed on a small number of occasions throughout the year.
A key aspect of the role is promoting good practice and consistently high standards of support through the provision of formal supervision to nominated junior staff, in line with organisational policies and procedures.
Participation in the continuous improvement of service quality is essential, including developing robust support plans, ensuring their effective implementation and regular review, and completing audit processes aimed at enhancing the experience of the people we support.
