Job summary

Change Grow Live is seeking an experienced Leader to join as a Permanent Team Leader across HMP The Verne and HMP Portland. You will provide day-to-day leadership, drive a positive, high-performing culture, and ensure safe, person-centred services while supporting staff development.

This full-time role involves working across two sites, with pro‑rata salary considerations for part-time hours. The role requires managing performance, building partnerships, and upholding the charity values.

We are looking for an experienced Practitioner or existing Team Leader to join our team as a Permanent Team Leader, supporting services across HMP The Verne and HMP Portland.

Hours: 37.5 hours per weekContract: Permanent, Full Time

Full‑time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part‑time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.

Responsibilities

About the Role

Reporting to the Service Manager, you will:

• Provide day‑to‑day leadership, guidance, and support to staff across both prison sites.
• Lead by example, promoting a positive, inclusive, and high‑performing team culture.
• Ensure services are delivered safely, effectively, and in line with organisational policies, contractual requirements, and best practice.
• Support staff development through coaching, supervision, and performance management.
• Monitor performance, quality, and outcomes, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with prison colleagues and partner agencies.
• Contribute to service development and the achievement of key organisational objectives.
• Champion Change Grow Live's values through your leadership and decision‑making.

About You

We are particularly interested in hearing from:

• Experienced Practitioners who are ready to progress into a leadership role.
• Existing Team Leaders seeking a new challenge within a values‑driven organisation.

You will ideally have:

• Significant experience working within substance misuse, criminal justice, health, social care, or related services.
• Experience supporting, mentoring, supervising, or leading staff teams.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to motivate others and drive positive performance.
• A commitment to delivering high‑quality, person‑centred services.
• Experience of partnership working and stakeholder engagement.

Salary Range (pro rata if part time)
