Job summary

Pertemps Plymouth is seeking a Team Leader to join a busy transport and operational support team in the Devon area. This is a hands‑on supervisory role to lead drivers and crew, coordinating daily activities and ensuring smooth operations from shift start to end debrief.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a team of drivers and operational crew members.
• Issue vehicle keys and allocate work each morning from 6:00am.
• Communicate daily instructions and operational updates.
• Ensure drivers and crews have the information required to complete their routes.
• Carry out driver debriefs at the end of each shift.
• Monitor attendance and daily staffing requirements.
• Resolve operational issues as they arise.
• Complete a range of office and administrative duties.
• Maintain accurate records and support the wider management team.

Team Leader

£17.47 per hour

37 hours per week

Monday to Thursday 06:00am to 2:30pm | Friday 06:00am to 11:30am

• Previous experience in a Team Leader, Supervisor or similar role
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a busy, fast-paced environment
• Confidence managing and motivating operational teams
• Good IT and administrative skills
• Experience within transport, logistics, waste services or a similar operational setting would be beneficial
