DSV is recruiting for a Team Lead at Brackmills.

This role will be responsible for the operation of a section within the Warehouse function.

Supporting the Management Team with the day-to-day operation of the warehouse, responsible for a group of operators, and ensuring efficient warehouse operation to achieve business targets.

Provide line management to the team, coordinate workloads, support team delivery, monitor issues, and ensure production targets, KPIs, and quality standards are met to satisfy customer requirements.

Develop the team by focusing on individual performance and support needs to achieve high standards, fostering a culture of safety.

Duties / Responsibilities
  1. Assist in running an efficient warehouse operation to fulfill operational and customer demand and meet targets.
  2. Train new Warehouse operatives within your responsibility area.
  3. Ensure inventory accuracy in your area.
  4. Record stock movements accurately.
  5. Support organizing and participate in stock takes regularly.
  6. Maintain accuracy and currency of computerized or automated systems.
  7. Identify system improvements and recommend changes.
  8. Resolve warehouse issues or problems where possible.
  9. Produce reports and statistics as required.
  10. Assist in planning future capacity needs.
  11. Ensure health and safety standards are met.
  12. Ensure manual handling procedures are followed for lifting and maneuvering products.
  13. Maintain vehicles, machinery, and equipment in good condition.
  14. Maintain high security standards in the warehouse.
  15. Keep the working environment clean and tidy to support operational efficiency.
  16. Act up for management during leave or absence.
People Management
  1. Manage time and attendance for operatives and support supervision on people issues.
  2. Communicate regularly with staff about priorities and targets.
  3. Report progress, achievements, and concerns to supervisors or managers.
  4. Liaise with customers, suppliers, and transport companies as needed.
  5. Comply with health, safety, and environmental policies.
  6. Engage and collaborate with others, and support team development.
  7. Maintain integrity, openness, and honesty in dealings.
  8. Participate in grievance and disciplinary processes.
  9. Monitor performance and absence, conduct welfare and return-to-work meetings.
Experience
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and supervise teams.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good IT skills, especially spreadsheets, databases, and warehouse systems.
  • Analytical and numerical skills.
  • Understanding of customer requirements and the impact of errors.
  • Good planning skills to meet deadlines and targets.
  • High attention to detail.
Skills and Competencies
  • Warehouse qualification (advantageous).
  • Certified in Dangerous Goods Handling.
  • Supervisory qualification (beneficial).
  • Experience as a Warehouse Team Leader.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and security requirements.
  • Knowledge of lean techniques (advantageous).
  • Fork Lift Truck license (may be required).
