Job summary

Lyreco is seeking a Team Leader to join the Droitwich team. You will support the RDC Manager in supervising delivery drivers, managing loads, and ensuring timely order delivery with high customer service standards.

The role involves vehicle checks, recruitment, and compliance with regulations in a permanent, full-time capacity. Based in Droitwich, the position offers a salary of £34,000 per annum and a range of benefits.

Qualifications

• Basic supervisory capability.

• Familiarity with tachographs and EU Working Time Regulations.

Responsibilities

• Support the RDC Manager to manage a team of Delivery Drivers and provide relief cover.
• Load and unload trucks to deliver orders while maintaining high customer service levels.
• Assist with unloading/breakdown of pallets and sort goods into route order.
• Assist with random vehicle checks to ensure correct items loaded.
• Undertake weekly vehicle checks for damage and wear.
• Report mechanical faults or incidents promptly.
• Be involved in recruiting new staff members.

Team Leader Location – Droitwich Salary – £34,000 per annum Hours of Work – Monday to Friday Contract: Permanent

Responsibilities

• Support the RDC Manager to manage a team of Delivery Drivers, providing relief cover for holidays, sickness and training when needed.
• To load and unload truckers where applicable to deliver orders, which may be furniture or General Office Products, to the customer and maintain a high level of customer service.
• Assist in the unloading / breakdown of pallets and the sortation of goods into route order as required.
• To assist with random vehicle checks making sure that items loaded are correct.
• Undertake weekly vehicle checks for damage, wear, and tear.
• Report any mechanical faults, GV9 offences or accidents at the earliest opportunity.
• Be involved in recruiting new staff members.

Ideal Candidate

• Basic knowledge of Highway Code and regulations relating to the operation of delivery vehicles
• Basic working knowledge of tachographs and EU regulations relating to the working time directive.
• Good supervisory and communication skills
• Ability to schedule, plan and meet deadlines.
• This job role requires regular contact with the company’s customer base so excellent customer service and interpersonal skills are essential.
