- Contribute to the strategic development of the service and speciality. This includes input into the service annual business plan and the formulation of relevant business cases and integration with the whole Musculoskeletal service aims.
- To ensure designated staff implement policy and service developmental changes.
- To ensure that the service responds to national initiatives and policy within the framework of Clinical Governance including clinical effectiveness, evidence-based health care, managing clinical risk, and Research & Development issues.
- To work a rostered 7-day service when implemented.
- To advise on the management of frequent and long-term sickness absence and suitable rehabilitation programme were agreed or report back to Occupational Health team as appropriate.
- To be an active member of the formal departmental training programme by attending in-service sessions, delivering and attending training sessions both in house and externally and undertaking reflective practice.
- To be responsible for the Line Management of staff, including recruitment, career development, performance and work evaluation.
