An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual to lead the hand therapy team at Ninewells Hospital in Dundee. This post will support the orthopaedic and plastic surgery hand services within NHS Tayside in a variety of specialist clinics. This post is open to suitably qualified physiotherapists and occupational therapists.
As team lead for Hand Therapy you will lead a team of 6 therapists and will work closely with the team and the Clinical Lead for Trauma Therapy to identify and develop opportunities for service improvement within the plastic surgery hand service. It is expected that this will increase capacity within the service and allow for increased AHP involvement in traditionally medical led clinics.
The candidate will have leadership experience, proven skills within hand therapy and have the ability to work autonomously at a highly specialist level. You will have a caseload incorporating patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment and discharge, have responsibility for the supervision, education and development of staff, support workers and students within the speciality, provide a specialised resource to other healthcare staff/patients/carers and have an active involvement in Clinical Governance and Clinical Effectiveness and Research. The department has strong links with universities providing student placements primarily from Edinburgh and Aberdeen.
