The role combines leadership with hands-on contract management, risk and opportunity assessment, and stakeholder collaboration with Project Managers, Legal, Procurement and Operations.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in contract management, commercial management, procurement or related disciplines, within offshore wind or major construction projects.
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to inspire, develop and lead teams through changing business and project environments.
  • Strong expertise in negotiating, administering and managing high-value and high-risk contracts, including claims and dispute management.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify commercial risks and opportunities and develop effective mitigation and value creation strategies.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and build trusted relationships at all organisational levels.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills in English, both written and spoken.
  • A proactive and pragmatic approach with a hands-on mentality, strong commercial awareness and sound judgement.
  • High presence in RWE's London office mandatory, with willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required to support project activities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop and support a team of Contract Managers, fostering collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Drive the successful execution of contract and claim management activities across UK offshore wind projects, ensuring alignment with project objectives, company policies and governance requirements.
  • Take responsibility for both contract management and procurement activities, ensuring an integrated commercial approach across the project lifecycle.
  • Act as Senior Contract Manager for designated contracts, managing commercial, contractual and claims-related matters throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide strategic advice to project leadership and senior stakeholders on contractual risks, opportunities and dispute resolution strategies.
  • Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Package Managers, Legal, Procurement, Construction and Operations teams to ensure successful contract execution and delivery.
  • Identify, assess and manage commercial risks and opportunities, ensuring appropriate mitigation measures and escalation processes are in place.
  • Monitor team performance, deliver KPIs and reporting, ensure high-quality stakeholder and supplier relationship management, while leading continuous improvement initiatives, promoting contract management best practices and contributing to the ongoing development of the Contract Management function.

An exciting opportunity has become available to join our UK Offshore Wind team as Team Lead Contract Management - UK. In this role, you will lead a team of Contract Managers responsible for the successful execution of high-value contracts during the construction and operational phases of offshore wind projects.

Alongside your leadership responsibilities, you will act as Senior Contract Manager for selected contracts, providing strategic commercial guidance, managing contractual risks and opportunities, and ensuring successful project delivery through effective contract and claim management.

About the role
