Job description

This school is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching and Learning Assistant (TLA) to join a committed and caring team. This is a rewarding opportunity to help pupils achieve their potential and to play a key role in creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as a Teaching/Learning Assistant:

1. Support pupils across the curriculum, both in class and through small-group or individual work.

2. Assist the class teacher in creating a calm, engaging, and well-organised learning environment.

3. Help to manage behaviour in line with school policy.

4. Contribute to the preparation of teaching materials and resources.

5. Provide targeted support to pupils with SEND, EAL, or additional learning needs.

6. Participate in school activities, including trips, clubs, and assemblies.

Ideal Teaching/Learning Assistant:

1. A caring, positive, and flexible attitude.

2. Experience working with children or young people (in a school or similar setting).

3. Good communication and teamwork skills as a Teaching/Learning Assistant.

4. A willingness to learn and participate in relevant training.

5. Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths; a relevant Level 2 or 3 qualification is desirable.
