Job summary

The University of Manchester seeks a motivated Teaching, Learning and Student Experience Administrator (Student Support & Wellbeing) to join the School of Social Sciences on a part-time fixed-term basis. Job description

We are seeking a motivated and collaborative individual to join our team as a Teaching, Learning and Student Experience Administrator (Student Support & Wellbeing). This part-time, fixed-term role sits within the School of Social Sciences, in the Faculty of Humanities, and forms part of the School Teaching, Learning and Student Experience team.

This role provides support to students across our Undergraduate and Postgraduate taught programmes, including liaising with academic staff, other Professional Services function teams and students to support student wellbeing. The role plays an integral part in improving students' experience while studying within the School of Social Sciences and supports students in accessing all support avenues available to them to complete their programme.

You will be responsible for:

• To be responsible for the administration of Teaching and Learning, and Student Administration activities for the Student Support and Wellbeing team
• To assist with day-to-day tasks and act as a point of reference within the team, knowing when to escalation to others as appropriate
• To provide information, advice and guidance to stakeholders
• To maintain and update system records with appropriate reference to current data protection legislation and provide reports
• To deliver excellent customer service to all stakeholders

Essential Criteria:

• Relevant or transferable knowledge and experience, including teaching and learning, and/or student administrative policies and procedures.
• Flexible and responsive to customer needs with excellent communication skills and the ability to provide information, advice and guidance whilst maintaining confidentiality, particularly with sensitive information.
• Experience of working in a team environment with the ability to be flexible and provide support for colleagues.
• Experience of working with administrative processes, while maintaining necessary confidentiality.
• Excellent digital literacy skills with experience of standard IT packages (Word, PowerPoint, Excel etc) and a willingness to learn new software packages.

Desirable Criteria:

• Demonstrable high level capability using Microsoft Excel to manage and maintain datasets
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve issues effectively.
• Ability to work without close supervision; taking action and seeking advice as necessary from colleagues or line manager.
• Willingness to learn new systems including Power Automate
• Experience using systems for accurate recording management and good understanding of GDPR and data protection requirements
