Job summary

University of Manchester is seeking an Assistant Technician for the Stopford Undergraduate Teaching Laboratories. The role supports practical teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate labs, ensuring equipment and consumables are stocked and maintained.

You will work with a flexible technical team across related disciplines, and assist with housekeeping as needed. The position is term-time only (39 weeks per year) and paid pro-rata at 75% of the full-time equivalent.

Qualifications

• Good scientific background.
• Able to provide technical support in teaching labs.
• Experience with stocking and maintaining equipment and consumables.
• Willingness to work across undergraduate, postgraduate and pharmacy lab teams.
