Northyorks invites applications for a dedicated teaching assistant to join our Church school in Wetherby. The role is 1:1 support under the guidance of the class teacher and SENDCo, with duties including assisting pupils with SEMH needs and intimate care as required, in a warm, faith-based environment.

Hours are 8.35am to 3.20pm, Monday to Friday, fixed term to July 2027, with potential extension. Visits welcomed; enhanced DBS required. To apply, contact the school office.

Competenze

• The ideal candidate will have experience in schools, ideally with Early Years Foundation Stage or SEND needs.
• Be willing to work directly with children with special educational needs including intimate care as required.
• Have a calm and nurturing attitude.
• Be able to facilitate learning in 1:1 and small groups, and share information with the class teacher.

Vacancy Hours: Monday to Friday or suitable for Job Share

8.35am until 3.20pm with 30 minutes own lunch and 30 minutes lunch time supervision as required

This post will be to directly support learning in a 1:1 capacity under the guidance and support of the class teacher/ SENDCo

The ideal candidate will:

• Have experience of working in a similar position in schools, ideally with children working at Early Years Foundation Stage level or with children with needs linked to SEMH
• Be willing to work directly with children with special educational needs including intimate care as required
• Have a calm and nurturing attitude
• Be able to facilitate children's learning in both 1:1 and small groups
• Be able to share information and have professional communication with the class teacher.
• Be able to support the Christian ethos of our school
