Job summary

Merefield School is seeking dedicated teaching assistants to support pupils with complex needs. You will aid learning, support in small groups and in class, and assist with personal care and behavioural needs. Training will be provided for medical interventions as required.

You will contribute to gathering evidence to support learning and work closely with the class teacher in a trusting environment that promotes achievement for all.

Qualifications

• Dedicated and experienced teaching assistants with a keen interest in supporting pupils with complex needs.
• Ability to work with individuals, small groups and whole class.
• Willingness to assist with medical needs and medications with training.

Responsibilities

• Support a pupil to learn and communicate through a total communication approach.
• Support learning on individual basis, in small groups and as part of the class.
• Support pupils with pastoral, behavioural and personal care needs.
• Contributing to the gathering of evidence to support learning.
• Provide support for the class teacher.

• Supporting pupils with medical needs including the administration of medication and other interventions with training.
