Job summary

Darwen St James’ Church of England Primary Academy in Darwen is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join our friendly staff. The role focuses on teaching support and welfare responsibilities, working with the class teacher to meet the needs of SEND pupils and assist in creating a nurturing Christian ethos.

The successful candidate will be adaptable, proactive and able to cope with a high-pressure environment, with previous SEND experience and a positive, energetic approach.

Qualifications

  • Be an excellent teaching assistant, with previous SEND support experience essential
  • Work with the class teacher to fulfil the learning targets of individual SEND pupils
  • Support other staff to ensure educational settings meet SEND pupils' needs

Job Title: Teaching Assistant with Welfare ResponsibilitiesGrade/Salary: TA: Grade C, SCP 3 -5, £24,796 to £25,583 FTE. Welfare: Grade B, SCP 3, £24,796 FTE. Actual Salary: £17,270.86 to £17,750.50 per annum
Contract Type: Fixed Term until 31/08/2027
Contract Terms: 30 hours, Part Time, Term Time

Darwen St James’ is a small Voluntary Aided Church of England Primary Academy, situated in the heart of Darwen.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a strong candidate to support teaching and learning at Darwen St James' C.E. Primary Academy. This role is varied, and we are looking for an adaptable, flexible and resourceful individual able to cope in a high-pressure environment and deal with constantly changing priorities. The successful candidate will join us at an exciting time in the life of our school and assist in meeting the personal, social and educational needs of our children.

We are looking for a highly motivated, conscientious & creative Learning Support Assistant, to join our committed & hardworking staff team, at an exciting time in the life of our school.

The suitable candidate will:
