The successful candidate will join a caring school community that prioritises safeguarding, child development, and teamwork, with DBS checks and pre-employment clearances. Closing date: 11 October 2026.
Are you passionate about supporting young children at the very start of their learning journey? Do you have the enthusiasm and dedication to help every child thrive?
Whitley Abbey Primary School is looking for two experienced Teaching Assistants. One position is to work in our Early Years Provision and the second is to support pupils with SEND in our Inclusion Base.
At Whitley, we are committed to supporting and developing our staff. You will benefit from:
Whitley Abbey Primary School is a school where we want every pupil to feel proud of who they are, proud of their achievements and proud to belong to our school community. We have high expectations for all pupils and are committed to providing the opportunities, support and encouragement they need to succeed.
Our culture is underpinned by our four school values:
We want this to be reflected in everything our pupils do - in their learning, their behaviour, their relationships and the contribution they make to school life. We encourage pupils to take pride in their work, their presentation, their conduct and their school, while developing the confidence and determination to make positive choices and achieve their best.
Our workforce data shows that men and people from minority ethnic backgrounds are under-represented, we encourage applicants from these backgrounds to apply. This does not prevent individuals with or without other protected characteristics as set out within the Equality Act 2010 from applying for this post.
Our school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be required to undertake an enhanced criminal record check via the DBS, all relevant safeguarding and pre-employment clearances, and the receipt of two satisfactory references.
Following recommendations from Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) for an additional pre employment check with effect 1 Sept 22, please note, an online search may form part of this recruitment process.
