Job summary

Southmead Primary School is seeking a motivated Teaching Assistant for a fixed term from 7 September 2026 to 31 August 2027. The role is 30 hours per week, 38 weeks (term time) 8:30 a.m. – 3:15 p.m.

Monday to Friday, with morning break and lunch break. Payment is £13.47–£13.69 per hour (£25,989–£26,403 FTE). The successful candidate will support pupils with a range of needs, deliver small group interventions, and contribute to an inclusive, motivating curriculum.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children and/or children with additional needs.
• Able to deliver 1:1 and small group interventions.
• Ability to set clear, consistent boundaries.
• A positive and encouraging attitude; willingness to learn and CPD.

Responsibilities

• Deliver 1:1 and small group interventions with pupils.
• Provide support for learning and may cover classes for qualified candidates.
• Collaborate with a supportive team to implement inclusive teaching strategies.
