Job summary

Polaris Community is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant for our new Andover school. You will mentor one pupil or a small group, support the teacher, and help track progress to ensure needs are met.

The role includes supervision during non-classroom time, assistance with lesson planning, and contributing to a safe, supportive learning environment. DBS check will be completed at Polaris' cost.

Qualifications

• Strong IT skills.
• Previous experience in a Teaching Assistant role.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and support one pupil or a small group of up to six pupils.
• Support the Classroom Teacher during lessons.
• Report on pupils' progress and liaise with staff to meet needs.
• Supervise pupils during non-classroom time including trips and activities.
• Assist with lesson planning and classroom preparation.
• Set work and mark work as appropriate.
• Build positive relationships to drive learning outcomes.

Education

A-level (preferred)

GCSEs (English Language and Mathematics)
