Job summary

Polaris Community is seeking a Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Andover, Hampshire. The role supports one pupil or small groups, assists teachers, and helps monitor progress and well-being within a nurturing environment.

Qualifications

• Must have GCSE English and Maths (C) or equivalent.
• Experience as a Teaching Assistant or similar role.
• Experience working with pupils with SEMH in education.
• Willing to undergo Enhanced DBS check before starting.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and support one pupil or a small group (up to six).
• Assist Classroom Teacher during lessons and activities.
• Report on pupils' progress and raise concerns with staff.
• Supervise pupils during non-classroom time, trips and activities.
• Assist with lesson planning and classroom preparation.
