Job summary

Polaris Community is hiring a One-to-One Teaching Assistant for Lyttelton House School in Andover. You will mentor a pupil or small group, assist the teacher in lessons, and monitor progress to support individual learning plans.

Role requires a solid education foundation, GCSEs in English and Maths, and experience with SEMH settings. DBS checks apply; the school offers a supportive, safeguarding-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Strong basic education, ideally up to A Level, with GCSEs in English and Maths.
• Ability to build relationships with pupils and staff.
• Experience supporting pupils, including SEMH, is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and support one pupil or a small group of up to six pupils.
• Support the Classroom Teacher during lessons.
• Report on pupils’ progress and concerns to ensure needs are met.
• Supervise pupils during non-classroom time, including trips.
• Assist with lesson planning and preparation.
