Job summary

Chaddesley Corbett Endowed Primary School invites applications for a Teaching Assistant (TA2) to support pupils with special educational needs. You will work with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored strategies, promote independence and aid social-emotional development in a supportive classroom environment.

As a rural school, we value professional development and collaborative teamwork. The role is fixed-term with daily duties from 8:30am to 3:30pm and a 32.5 hour week, starting

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children with SEND is highly desirable.
  • A relevant qualification in teaching, learning support, or a related field is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, teachers and parents.

Responsibilities

  • Support students with learning, daily routines, emotional regulation and social interactions to foster independence.
  • Use structured interventions to enhance learning and engagement in class.
  • Differentiate lesson plans and resources to ensure active participation and progress.

Teaching Assistant (support SEND children) – TA2

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team and support a range of students with special educational needs. In this rewarding role, you will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored learning strategies, foster the students’ independence and social-emotional well-being, and ensure their active participation and progress in the classroom.

Contract Type: Fixed Term

Working Hours: 8.30am-3.30pm Monday to Friday

Weekly Hours: 32.5

Salary: TA2

Start Date: ASAP

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored learning strategies that cater to the children’s specific needs and abilities.
  • Support students with learning, daily routines, emotional regulation, and social interactions to foster their independence and social-emotional well-being.
  • Use structured interventions to enhance the children's learning and engagement in the classroom.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher to adapt and differentiate lesson plans and resources to ensure the children can actively participate and make progress.
  • Monitor the children's progress and provide regular feedback to the class teacher and SENCO to inform future planning and support.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Experience working with children with special educational needs is highly desirable.
  • A relevant qualification in teaching, learning support, or a related field is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with the students, teachers, and parents.
  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to supporting the unique needs of the children.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
