Job summary

Ysgol Bro Tawe is seeking a skilled Learning Support Assistant to work in our ASC Specialist Centre. You will support pupils’ learning, wellbeing, independence and inclusion under the direction of the Teacher in Charge, helping pupils access mainstream learning where appropriate.

Experience of working with pupils with additional learning needs or in a specialist provision is desirable. This fixed-term maternity cover carries a Grade 7 (SCP 019) salary and requires an Enhanced DBS check.

The Governors of this successful, happy school wish to appoint a skilled and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to work in our ASC Centre.
The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Teacher in Charge of the Specialist Centre and will play an important role in supporting pupils’ learning, communication, wellbeing, independence and inclusion. The post will involve supporting pupils within the Specialist Centre, helping pupils to access mainstream learning where appropriate, and contributing to specialist interventions and individual support programmes. We are looking for someone who is calm, patient, flexible and able to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, families and other professionals. Experience of working with pupils with additional learning needs and/or in a specialist provision would be desirable.
