Are you a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant looking to make a positive difference in the lives of young people?

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and supportive Good Ofsted-rated secondary school with a thriving Sixth Form in Perry Barr, Birmingham, seeking a committed Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026.

This is a full-time, long-term role with the potential to become a permanent position for the right candidate. The school prides itself on creating an inclusive learning environment where students are encouraged to achieve their academic and personal potential.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff and students across the Sixth Form, supporting learning and helping students to engage fully with their education.

  • Supporting students within lessons and small group settings

  • Assisting students with additional learning needs

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will:

  • Have previous experience working with young people in an educational setting
  • Be patient, supportive and approachable
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be confident supporting students with varying learning abilities
  • Have strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrate a positive and proactive attitude
  • Be committed to supporting students' academic progress and wellbeing

Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Mentor or Youth Worker would be advantageous, although candidates with relevant transferable experience are also encouraged to apply.
