Job summary

Uphill Village Academy in Weston-super-Mere is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant Level 1 to support SEND pupils within a caring, inclusive classroom. You will work with the class teacher and SENDCo to support learning, wellbeing and engagement across a range of ages and needs.

The role emphasizes patience, strong communication, and teamwork, with a fixed-term contract through to August 2027 and a 32.5-hour week during term time plus inset days.

Qualifications

• Has experience supporting children with additional needs.
• Strong evidence of supporting emotional wellbeing, communication and social development.
• Able to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

• Deliver planned learning activities and interventions.
• Support educational, social and emotional development of pupils.
• Assist class teacher and SENDCo in delivering high-quality provision.
